Regional Respiratory Operations Technician

Job Title:  Regional  Respiratory Operations Technician

Department: Respiratory Therapy- Multi-site

Reports To:  Regional Director of Respiratory Services

Exempt Status:  Exempt

Objective:  Assist Regional Director of Respiratory Services in operational, system and clinical program monitoring of Respiratory Program in assigned Area.

Essential Job Functions:

v Assists with Respiratory Program Tracking daily

v Manages Scheduling of Respiratory therapy treatments, including management of  weekend treatment and staffing

v Performs daily new patient reviews to communicate key respiratory indicators for referral, respiratory medication, and diagnostic indicators

v Performs daily order set audits to ensure documentation compliance

v Completes daily follow up with Nursing and Respiratory staff as needed

v Promotes open lines of communication, and fosters Interdisciplinary communication

v Assists with Orientation and training of new Respiratory employees to Respiratory Operational systems

v Assists with assessing and maintaining inventory of Respiratory equipment and devices

v Assists with development of patient and location listings of Oxygen equipment, ie.  Concentrators, Oxygen tanks, Airvo, Bipap, Cpap

v Ensures removal and communication of nonfunctional equipment upon weekly audit

v Promotes communication of Patient listings to ensure efficiency of patient care

v Provides education to facility staff regarding procedures for equipment replacement when offsite

v Performs audits of Respiratory Equipment and devices to ensure the medical chart and patient care are aligned

v Completes weekly onsite visits to audit and/or change Oxygen, Oxygen/Nebulizer Tubing, and Respiratory devices
