As a social services assistant, you provide vital support to the social worker and other health professionals. You may deal with rehabilitation, psychology, and social work needs as you provide support for families and client services. Your goal is to aid the social worker in offering the benefits or services that are most applicable and helpful to them. As a social services assistant, you have the opportunity to change lives by providing aid that many don’t even realize is available to them. Your goal is to identify needs and determine the best ways to overcome them with the services available.
Job Responsibilities
- Keep accurate, updated, organized records
- ability to assist the social worker in answering questions about benefits that are available to individuals or refer them to the correct organization to get help
- Assist in conducting discharge planning meetings with patient and families.
- Documentation of meetings with patient/families into an EMR system.

Required:
- Flexible hours
- An understanding of medical terminology.
- An understanding or willingingness to learn the uses of medical equipment and their uses.
- Ability to provide clinical updates to managed care organizations.
- PCC, Word, Excel, Outlook experience
