Director of Rehabilitation - PT/OT/SLP
The Director of Rehabilitation’s role at The Monarch Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is to manage and oversee all aspects of the Therapy Department as part of an interdisciplinary rehabilitation team. Our primary focus is in delivering First-Class patient care working alongside team members from nursing, medical, social services, case management, MDS, housekeeping, concierge, building services and administration. In this role, you will orchestrate and direct the therapy staff in best clinical practices by developing goals, plans, therapies and objectives.
The Monarch Rehabilitation and Nursing Center provides therapy 7 days a week, alongside +10 experienced therapists servicing 200 bed within our new state-of-the-art gym.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Knowledge with PDPM implementation from an IDT perspective.
- Extensive knowledge of LTC caseload development and strong understanding of MDS schedules
- Proficient understanding in NYS MCD Case-mix Program and being a leader and active participant in its reporting and implementation.
- Excels in inter/intra departmental communication, organization, and plan development; represents a key figure within the Rehabilitation Center.
- Must have experience in marketing clinical programs and outcomes to community partners.
- Consistently develops and maintains operational, clinical, and financial reporting.
- Monitors financial performance of department and effectively seekd methods to improve this performance while ensuring that the center’s standards are consistently observed.
Contributes effectively to the census development/marketing efforts in coordination with the center.
- Contributes to professional development of self and center’s rehabilitation/therapy staff.
- Aids in building and maintaining the center’s reputation as the unparalleled rehab provider of the elderly by contribution as a professional member of the staff.
- Compliance with government regulatory safety practices.
- Provides patient care as appropriate and necessary, following the position description for the applicable clinical discipline in which licensure or certification is held.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of rehab community.
- Demonstrate leadership and management skills.
- Skills applicable to clinical discipline.
- Ability to communicate effectively and positively with all Rehabilitation staff members and facility staff.
2. Education and Experience:
- Graduation from an accredited program for Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, or Speech-Language Pathology preferred (PTA or OTA will be considered).
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
- Must possess and maintain a current license in the state of practice as required
3. Physical Requirements for Direct Patient Care:
- If providing patient care, and appropriate based on therapy licensure, must be able to lift and transfer patients to and from all surfaces a minimum of 10 times per day.
- If providing patient care, and appropriate based on therapy licensure, must be able to lift approximately 50-70 pounds a minimum of 10 times per day.
- Current CPR Certification, if required.
4. Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience (Director or Assistant Director Level) required.
For Support Activities:
·Must be physically able to travel at least 5% of the time.
·Must be able to communicate effectively over the phone.
Compensation: $110,000-$125,000 per year
