Food Service Director
Salary: Up to $90,000 per year (based on experience)
The Monarch at Brooklyn Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is seeking an experienced and motivated Food Service Director to oversee all dietary operations within our Skilled Nursing Facility. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring high-quality meal service, regulatory compliance, and exceptional resident satisfaction.
Position Summary
The Food Service Director is responsible for the overall management of the dietary department, including menu planning, food preparation, staff supervision, and compliance with state and federal regulations.
Food Service Director Key Responsibilities

Oversee daily dietary operations and meal service

Ensure compliance with CMS, DOH, and sanitation regulations

Develop and maintain menus in accordance with resident needs and dietary requirements

Supervise, train, and schedule dietary staff

Manage department budget, food costs, and inventory

Ensure food safety, sanitation, and infection control standards are met

Conduct resident satisfaction rounds and address concerns

Prepare for and participate in state and federal surveys

Maintain accurate documentation and quality assurance reports

Coordinate special events and holiday meals
Food Service Director Qualifications

Minimum of 3–5 years of food service management experience, preferably in a healthcare or SNF setting

Knowledge of therapeutic diets and nutritional requirements

Strong leadership and organizational skills

ServSafe certification preferred

CDM, RD, or equivalent credential preferred

High school diploma required; college degree in nutrition, hospitality, or related field a plus
