Maintenance Director
Skilled Nursing Facility
Salary: Up to $90,000 per year (based on experience)
We are seeking an experienced and reliable Maintenance Director to oversee all maintenance operations within our Skilled Nursing Facility. This is a critical leadership role responsible for ensuring a safe, functional, and compliant environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
Position Summary
The Maintenance Director is responsible for managing all aspects of facility maintenance, life safety systems, and physical plant operations in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Maintenance Director Key Responsibilities

Oversee daily maintenance operations and preventative maintenance programs

Supervise, train, and schedule maintenance staff

Ensure compliance with CMS, DOH, and Life Safety Code regulations

Maintain and monitor building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, generators, fire alarm, emergency power, etc.)

Coordinate inspections, repairs, and emergency response procedures

Prepare for and participate in state and federal surveys

Maintain documentation for compliance and safety audits

Manage vendor relationships and service contracts

Oversee department budget and inventory control

Ensure facility grounds are safe and well maintained
Maintenance Director Qualifications

Minimum of 3–5 years of maintenance leadership experience, preferably in a SNF or healthcare environment

Strong working knowledge of life safety codes and healthcare regulations

Experience with emergency preparedness and safety programs

Ability to lead teams and manage multiple priorities

HVAC, electrical, or technical certifications preferred

High school diploma required; trade school or technical background a plus
