EPIC Rehabilitation and Nursing at White Plains is a **BRAND NEW** Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation center located in the heart of White Plains. This SNF is part of our " Epic Healthcare Management" group of facilities.
- The Recreation Lead is a full employee who assists the Director/Assistant Director of Recreation and Volunteers in implementing, preparing, organizing and conducting programs, and supervising Recreation Aides and Volunteers. Recreation Lead participate as a member of the Care planning Team and completes all necessary documentation.
- Recreation Lead under the supervision of the Director of Recreation, implements, develops, conducts activity programs to meet the needs of the patients/residents.
- Ascertain from appropriate professional staff, those patients/resident who are available and able to be in the activities programs.
- Recreation Lead assists in the clerical functioning of the recreation department, including letters, filing, and other clerical work of the department as needed.
- Assists in transporting residents where and when necessary, to and from activity programs.
- Recreation Lead works with volunteers on activity programs.
- Record-keeping: Keeps records of residents' participation and in what activity. Keeps other records as necessary. Appropriate resident charting.
- Informs Director of Recreation of any problems or concerns encountered.
- Assistance with any other work that goes on in the recreation department to ensure the highest level of resident care.
- Contact with residents, staff, family members, volunteers and community groups required.
- Performs procedures in a safe and therapeutic manner.
Requirements:
- Minimum of a High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Previous experience delivering recreational activity
- Experience working with the elderly and/or physically challenged population
- Working Knowledge of MDS+, documentation and Care Planning is helpful.
- Is mature and responsible.
- Must have a good rapport with staff and be able to speak clearly and communicate effectively with residents.
- The ability to work under pressure and in conditions of frequent interruption
