Activity Recreation Aide OUR MISSION is to foster and provide unprecedented levels of genuine care and customer service for our community's Rehabilitation and Nursing needs, in a soothing, tranquil and state-of-the-art environment.
The Activity Aide plays an important role in our Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, contributing to the well-being of residents through engaging and therapeutic activities. Responsibilities include planning and coordinating a variety of recreational activities for a diverse group of seniors, fostering a supportive environment. The ideal candidate should be engaging, personable, and possess excellent communication skills, along with creativity and empathy to ensure a resident's physical and mental stimulation. This role requires collaboration with the interdisciplinary team to enhance the overall quality of life for our residents. Previous experience in a similar role and a background in recreational therapy or a related field is preferred but not required.
Essential Functions: - Assist in evaluating resident's recreational needs and developing activity programs upon resident initial admission relating to past and current interests.
- Promotes a physically and sensory stimulating environment to increase the functioning levels of residents.
- Prepares and participates in individual and group activities as scheduled daily.
- Assist with decorating the facility and preparing for special events and seasonal parties.
- Participates in recreational programs for residents confined to their rooms and participation records for 1:1 visits are mandatory.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
