RN Infection PreventionsThe Grand Pavilion for Rehabilitation and Nursing at Rockville CentreSalary: Up to $130,000 annually (based on experience) Position Overview:The Grand Pavilion for Rehabilitation and Nursing at Rockville Centre is seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Registered Nurse to serve as our Infection Preventionist. This key role is responsible for leading and maintaining the facility's Infection Prevention and Control Program, ensuring a safe environment for residents, staff, and visitors while maintaining full regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities: - Develop, implement, and oversee the Infection Prevention and Control Program
- Conduct ongoing infection surveillance, tracking, and data analysis
- Monitor and report infection trends, outbreaks, and key metrics
- Educate and train staff on infection control practices, including PPE, hand hygiene, and isolation protocols
- Ensure compliance with guidelines from CDC, CMS, OSHA, and the Department of Health
- Lead outbreak investigations and coordinate response efforts
- Perform regular audits and rounds to ensure adherence to infection control standards
- Maintain accurate documentation for regulatory surveys and internal reporting
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to promote a culture of safety and prevention
Qualifications: - Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York
- Previous experience in infection control or a clinical leadership role in a skilled nursing facility preferred
- Strong knowledge of infection prevention practices and regulatory requirements
- Infection Preventionist certification (IP or CIC) preferred or willingness to obtain
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills
- Ability to educate and engage staff across all departments
