Recreation Therapist The Monarch at Brooklyn Rehab and Nursing Center is seeking a Recreation Therapist to join our growing team.
Recreation Therapist Job Description: - Responsible for planning and conducting group and individual recreation programs as assigned by the Director of Recreation
- Responsible for documenting program attendance and participation
- Facilitate independent activities for residents
- Assist residents to and from recreation programs
- All other tasks as assigned by the Director of Recreation
- Work as part of the care plan team in determining therapeutic objectives and goals.
- Create patient specific care plans
- Other duties as required
Recreation Therapist Qualifications/Requirements: - Minimum of 2 years working with the frail or elderly population.
- Two years' experience in a social or recreational program providing and coordinating services.
- Working knowledge of physical, psycosocial and behavioral needs of the elderly population.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Certified as a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist is a plus
Shift Needs: Part Time and Per Diem
Pay Rate: Up to $23.88 an hour (based on experience)An Equal Opportunity Employer
