Director of Environmental Services (EVS) to lead our housekeeping and environmental services department.
The Director of EVS will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, sanitary, and welcoming environment for our residents, visitors, and staff. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on leader with strong management and healthcare environmental services experience.
Responsibilities- Oversee the daily operations of the Environmental Services and Housekeeping Department.
- Supervise, schedule, train, and evaluate housekeeping and environmental services staff.
- Ensure all resident rooms, common areas, offices, and facility spaces are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation.
- Develop and maintain cleaning schedules, procedures, and department workflows.
- Monitor compliance with infection prevention and control policies.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Maintain adequate inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment while managing department expenses.
- Conduct routine inspections and audits to ensure quality standards are consistently met.
- Address environmental concerns and implement corrective action plans as needed.
- Collaborate with nursing, maintenance, infection prevention, and facility leadership.
- Participate in regulatory surveys and maintain continuous survey readiness.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, local, and facility regulations.
- Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, safety, and exceptional service.
Qualifications- Previous experience in Environmental Services, Housekeeping Management, or a related leadership role required.
- Healthcare, Skilled Nursing Facility, Long-Term Care, or Rehabilitation experience strongly preferred.
- Proven experience supervising and managing staff.
- Strong knowledge of cleaning, sanitation, infection prevention, and safety practices.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Experience with budgeting, inventory management, and staff scheduling preferred.
- Must be hands-on, dependable, detail-oriented, and able to lead by example.
