Position Summary The Director of Nursing (DON) is responsible for the overall clinical management of the nursing department, ensuring quality resident care, regulatory compliance, and staff development. This leadership role is essential in maintaining excellence in clinical outcomes and fostering a positive, team-oriented culture.

- Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, including CMS guidelines
- Lead, mentor, and support nursing staff, including RNs, LPNs, and CNAs
- Develop and implement policies, procedures, and clinical protocols
- Monitor quality measures, infection control, and performance improvement initiatives
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance resident outcomes
- Manage staffing, scheduling, and labor costs effectively
- Oversee survey readiness and manage regulatory inspections
- Investigate incidents, address concerns, and ensure timely resolution
- Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement
Director of Nursing (DON)Qualifications - Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (state-specific)
- Minimum 3-5 years of nursing leadership experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting
- Strong knowledge of CMS regulations, survey process, and clinical compliance
- Proven leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
- Ability to lead teams, manage change, and drive performance
