Job Responsibilities - Responsible for planning and conducting small and large group and individual recreation programs
- Assesses past, current and desired interests, to target programs that nurture and celebrate one's personhood to create p atient specific care plans.
- Responsible for documenting program attendance and participation
- Facilitate individualized independent activities for residents
- Work as part of the Interdisciplinary Team in determining therapeutic objectives and goals
- Create and implement resident specific care plans
- Work closely with the Occupational Therapy Department to develop rehabilitation opportunities for residents
- Organize and participate in the planning of special events, holiday celebrations and special program-wide activities
- Records daily activity attendance and participation
Qualifications/Requirements: - Certified Therapeutic Recreational Specialists (CTRS) or other related Certifications preferred
- Minimum of 2 years working with the elderly population or special needs populations
- Experience planning and conducting small group, large group and individual therapeutic recreation programs
- Working knowledge of physical, psychosocial, and behavioral needs of the elderly population
- Minimum 2 years' experience with dementia patients is a plus
- Energetic and creative approach to Therapeutic Recreational programming
