The Willows at Ramapo Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is seeking an experienced and motivated Director of Rehabilitation (DOR) to lead our rehabilitation department. This is an excellent opportunity for a strong clinical leader who is passionate about patient outcomes, team development, and delivering exceptional rehabilitation services in a skilled nursing environment.
Responsibilities
Oversee the daily operations of the rehabilitation department, including Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech Therapy.
Lead, manage, and support rehabilitation staff to ensure high-quality patient care and positive outcomes.
Develop and implement strategies to improve clinical outcomes, productivity, and departmental performance.
Coordinate with nursing, medical, social services, and facility leadership to ensure comprehensive, interdisciplinary care.
Monitor therapy documentation, treatment plans, productivity, and regulatory compliance.
Ensure appropriate delivery of therapy services in accordance with physician orders and applicable guidelines.
Manage departmental staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation.
Monitor key performance indicators, department budgets, and operational goals.
Participate in care plan meetings, quality assurance initiatives, audits, and facility surveys.
Promote a positive, accountable, and collaborative work environment.
Qualifications
Current New York State license as a Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, or Speech-Language Pathologist.
Previous leadership or management experience in a skilled nursing or rehabilitation setting strongly preferred.
Strong understanding of Medicare, Medicaid, PDPM, and skilled nursing rehabilitation operations.
Knowledge of applicable federal and state regulations and documentation requirements.
Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a multidisciplinary rehabilitation team.
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
