Director of Clinical NutritionThe Chateau at Brooklyn Rehabilitation and Nursing CenterSalary: Up to $100,000 annually (based on experience) Position Overview:The Chateau at Brooklyn Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is seeking an experienced and motivated Director of Clinical Nutrition to lead our dietary and nutrition services department. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing clinical nutrition programs, ensuring regulatory compliance, and promoting optimal health outcomes for our residents within a skilled nursing environment.
Key Responsibilities: - Direct and manage all clinical nutrition and dietary operations within the facility
- Oversee resident nutritional assessments, care planning, and dietary interventions
- Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure appropriate therapeutic diets
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including CMS guidelines
- Supervise and support dietary staff, including scheduling, training, and performance management
- Monitor food quality, safety, and sanitation practices in accordance with established standards
- Lead quality assurance and performance improvement (QAPI) initiatives related to nutrition services
- Develop and review menus to meet nutritional requirements and resident preferences
- Prepare for and participate in state surveys and audits
Qualifications: - Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) with current certification
- New York State licensure (or eligibility) as a Dietitian/Nutritionist
- Minimum of 2-3 years of leadership experience in a healthcare or long-term care setting preferred
- Strong knowledge of clinical nutrition practices, therapeutic diets, and regulatory requirements
- Experience with survey readiness and compliance processes
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
